Xmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and all cards etc have been long posted but because of the snow we have had here in the UK some have only recently arrived. So I have posted here a few examples of cards and calenders we made this year.

Xmas Dangles

Hazel had the idea of making some Xmas dangles using the spellbider dies, the results as above but because of the foil-laid card used there is a certain amount of flash back.

Cat & Ribbons

Show a Cat ... our cat Lucky ribbon of any kind or shape and to her it's a game waiting to happen. So when Hazel had the idea of making up some Xmas dangles then the Game started as I was trying to take some photos.

Karaoke

Out Thursday night with work friends for a leaving do for one of them at the local Chinese Restaurant. I had been told beforehand that they had a karaoke machine and stated that there would be no way that they would get me singing or mores the point attempting to. OH! how foolish of me to say never. It was the wine that made me do it, although I don't remember to much but someone caught the moment on their I-Phone.

New cards

We recently had a friends birthday to celebrate so duly set about making a card.
Well in fact we made two finally going with the one on the left, completing it with a insert containing a birthday verse.
It's getting to that time of the year again when all the idiots come out a think it's funny to let of extremely loud bangers in the street. In past years this has not worried our Lucky to much but this year she has taken to her traveling box when they start almost as a place of comfort, bless her.

Wildlife

We get quite a variety of wildlife in our garden which is a little surprising taking into account we have other houses all around us. The cheeky squirrel which arrived this morning obviously thought why should the birds have all the food, even helping himself from the seed feeder.

GET WELL CARD

Hazel's work friend husband has gone into hospital to re-arrange his internal plumbing (enough said) so a get well card was required. It was a joint effort in so much that I did the die cutting and Hazel constructed the finished card.

Constructed by using; white blank card, then DoveCraft oriental paper followed by "TOPPER SHAPE" (ebay purchase) not sure of who makes it, "GET WELL" words a Sizzix die and KEN punched out from a Sizzix alphabet set.

SCARY PUSSY

Is this scary? look at the eyes and if that's not enough can you touch your nose with your tongue, Lucky can. Her expression says it all, it's my chair if I'm in it don't even think about sitting here it's mine and even if I'm not in it, yes you guessed right "it's my chair" .. lol

XMAS CARDS

Two attempts by me at Xmas Cards. Using the Sizzix BigShot, CuttleBug embossing folders and on the card above a Nellie Snellen die cutter, also used stock white 220g card and pre printed Christmas themed card cut to shape for corners. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the overall effect.

FOXY

One of the fox cubs. taken about three months ago

A Foxy story meow

Well my girl Lucky loves lying on her back and looking at us upside down, maybe we look a lot better that way to her.
So the Foxy tale, tonight when we arrived home it is still light and Lucky does her normal thing and jumps up onto the kitchen window sill to look out of the window and straight away her tail is swishing back and forth. upon looking to see what has her so mad, outside the window on the patio amongst our fuchsias is one of the fox cubs from this year all grown up and not worried one bit by a pair of cats eyes saying you could die. Cheeky foxy is only feasting on our fuchsias once the flower dies back your left with a berry I'm told edible for humans. Well there was the fox eating not only those that had fallen to the ground but also pulling of those still on the bush, no wonder my girl had the hump ...lol

More cards

Two more examples of Hazels card making the top one a anniversary card for our dear friends Lesley and Mark the next one a birthday card for our niece. I've had a little dabble with the new toys ...lol and as can be found on Lesley's Blog the card we sent Sam for his birthday was a attempt by your truly.
We have both been practising with new cutting dies and embossing folders and it would be true to say we are both learning all the time what works and what doesn't it's a case of finding that fine line between over embellishing and not enough which leave us thinking a card looks a bit plain.
Hopefully over the next few weeks you'll be able to judge as we have a few birthdays etc coming up for which we will be making cards and also get in front for making our Xmas cards.

A rollacoaster

It's been a roll-a-coaster of emotions over the last few weeks and I don't think I have still come to terms with the passing of my dearest friend Maggi although she had been ill for a while it was still a terrible shock to be with her when she finally took her last breath.

The article above speaks volumes for the special lady Maggi was.

Time

It's been a very long time since I last posted on my blog and so much has happened in the passing months some good and a lot not so good but more of that later.

For the present I'll just post a few pictures of a hobby that Hazel started a while ago but Hazel has recently upgraded her equipment, not only that I've also taken a interest in (not sure if that's a good or bad thing ...lol.

So following in our good friend Lesley's footsteps I'll post our attempts at home made card crafting.
